MINI MUSIC MAKERS
Liberty Heights Weekday Preschool has enjoyed Mini Music Makers as an enrichment program fro three years and is eager to invite them back for another school year!
About the Class
This class is being offered to all children ages 3-5 years old. The class consists of 45 minutes of active music making. Children will play a variety of rythm instruments, participate in fingerplay songs, learn circle dances and other movement songs, play with parachutes, bean bags, and scarves, and sing a variety of age-appropriate songs. Each class will have an educational theme (i.e. my body, manners, and transportation), and all activities will be in support of the week's theme.
While the class is designed to encourage music appreciation, many non-musical goals will also be addressed including increased social skills, creativity, self esteem, and motor skills.
About the Instructor
All classes will be taught by Jodi Williams. Jodi has a bachelors in Fine Arts from Ohio University and has been a board-certified music therapist since 2002. In addition to working one-on-one with children with special needs, she has been teaching community-based music classes for the past seven years. Jodi uses her music therapy background to design classes that focus on the development of many skills including social skills, motor skills, developmental skills, and communication skills.
